Different Brains, Shared Hearts Event – Sept 2025
A seminar for navigating connection, communication, and understanding in neurodiverse relationships.
Whether you're a couple, parent and adolescent, adult child and parent, or engaged in any other close relationship where one or more individuals are neurodivergent (such as ADHD, autism, or similar differences), this inclusive and affirming event offers a wealth of practical tools and insights to help you build stronger, more supportive connections.
We’ll explore various aspects of neurodiverse relationships, including Communication Styles Across Neurotypes, where you'll learn about differences like literal versus implied meaning, processing time, and emotional expression—helping to foster clearer and more empathetic conversations.
The event also covers Conflict Without Crisis, providing strategies to navigate shutdowns, meltdowns, and rejection sensitivity without escalation, ensuring that disagreements don't lead to misunderstandings or harm.
We'll delve into Emotional Regulation & Co-Regulation, explaining what these processes mean, how to practice them effectively, and how to support your partner or loved one without losing sight of your own needs.
Understanding how Executive Function Meets Everyday Life is also key—discussing topics like division of labor, routines, missed appointments, and how to support task initiation in a way that respects each person's unique strengths and challenges.
Finally, the event addresses Sensory Differences in the Relationship, exploring issues like touch, sound, lighting, overstimulation, and what happens when your needs clash—gaining insight into creating a sensory-friendly environment that honors everyone's comfort.
Join us to learn how these important areas influence your relationships and discover practical, compassionate strategies to enhance understanding, reduce stress, and foster deeper emotional bonds. Whether you're aiming to improve communication, manage disagreements more effectively, or better support your neurodivergent loved ones, this event will provide valuable tools to help you thrive together.
